Berbatov set for United bow at Liverpool

Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated that he expects Dimitar Berbatov to make his Manchester United debut against Liverpool.
Having finally completed his protracted move to Old Trafford from Tottenham Hotspur on the last day of August's transfer window, Berbatov now looks set to play against United's arch rivals in Saturday's early-kick-off.
The Bulgarian striker has been forced to kick his heels thanks to the international week, a domestic break that saw the 27-year-old feature for his country against Montenegro last weekend.
Not surprisingly, Ferguson is eager to have Berbatov involved sooner rather than later.
"We've got to look to see how all the players come back from international duty, that's the first thing, but he's sure to be involved," he told Sky Sports News.Berbatov, who has been training with the Red Devils this week, may have to be content however with a place on the bench at Anfield with England star Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez also pushing for starting places.Nevertheless, Ferguson seems intent on giving his latest acquisition his debut at some stage on Saturday against a Liverpool team that will definitely be without both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.Click here to hear what the Football Focus team think ahead of the Liverpool vs Manchester United game!
